She crouched in the corner of the room, head pounding

the stench of his breath still lingering in her nostrils.

His words sounded dull in her ears,

battling against the sirens ringing in the street

"See what you made me do? You did this!"

She stared at the shattered glass as they held his hands behind his back.

The shards look beautiful, she thought,

shimmering in the flashing blue and red light.
